What procedures do Jewish Rabbis have to deal with a haemophiliac baby boys at the circumcision ceremony?
Hameophilia is a genetic disorder whereby when bleeding occurs it does not stop due to lack of blood clotting factors. I wonder what procedures Jewish rabbis have in place in case they cut a baby boy and the bleeding does not stop. Might the child's life even be at risk?
In the case where the child;s life will be endangered by circumcision- it is not done. Teh Talmud is clear about this and makes it clear that the child is NOT circumcised then, or later in life, if there is a medical reason that makes it dangerous to their life. The procedure in this case is that a declaration of intent to do so if it becomes safe to do- if it never is, the person is circumcised after death before they are buried as a symbol that though they were not circumcised in life, they have never left the community of Bnei Yisrael and are fully members of Bnei Yisrael
